“This is again an urgent plea to stop this and an urgent plea for help.”
This week four new born babies have died as a result of hypothermia. The temperatures are dropping at night, especially near the sea and in tents where sheltering and insulation is inadequate. We’re going to continue to see children, especially, and elderly, who are unable to maintain their temperatures in the cold, die of hypothermia in the coming days. Additionally, in North Gaza, Kamal Adwan Hospital is completely under siege. Patients and staff have been forced to evacuate in the cold. These patients were receiving life-saving measures, life-saving care, and now are left to be on their own outside. We’re expecting also to see an influx of patients in central Gaza in a healthcare system that is already broken and overburdened. As healthcare workers, we are feeling extremely hopeless. This is again an urgent plea to stop this and an urgent plea for help.
