On October 23, 2024, Dr. Mohammed Obeid, an MSF orthopedic surgeon, described the “disastrous” situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital in North Gaza amid relentless bombardment. He reported that the hospital, which is also being targeted, is completely overwhelmed with injured people inside and out, but lacks the medical equipment to treat them. Dr. Obeid, who is sheltering at the facility after his own home was hit, stated that ambulances cannot move, and many are dying before or after arrival due to the inability to provide care. Describing the staff as exhausted and “hopeless,” he called for lifting the blockade.
